Supply management and quality management are shifting to risk management.  The days of a checklist, yes/no compliance ISO 9001 or AS 9100 walkthrough are gone or ending fast.  Why?  Too much risk for customers.  If you’re a critical or sole-source supplier, you can present material risks to your customer.  More often, your customer will want to conduct a forensic or risk based audit of its suppliers.  Operational and/or supplier risks are disrupt operations and can be reportable in quarterly and yearly financial statements.
